Chuck C.
gave the PI/CPC report:
District is still working with the
Sheriffs Dept in the hopes of establishing a meeting in the County Jail. We
will need volunteers to act as outside AA members to facilitate a meeting there
once it is in place. Please plan on attending District meeting or contact us if
you are interested in taking a meeting to those folks “behind the walls”.
The PI/CPC committee is looking for
volunteers to do follow up work with the libraries and schools within the
District. In 2004 the Committee distributed literature and pamphlets to all the
schools and libraries in the District and it is time to see what materials they
may need replenished. Also, we need to get back in touch with radio stations to
make public service announcements available for broadcast.
This is an important function of the
District service work; to make the public and professionals in the area aware
of A.A. as a resource for those that may have a drinking problem.
Bill D. Mail Contact for the District presented the Meeting with
materials received from GSO, AAWS and the Grapevine. Bill notes that this and
all materials received are for the use of the District and the Groups in the
District. If your Group would like to know what materials are available, attend
District meeting or contact us
OLD
BUSINESS:
The Spring workshop has been arranged.
The theme of the workshop is “Primary
Purpose”. There will be presentations on sponsorship and from elected General
Service officers on the responsibilities of their offices. The workshop will be
held Sat. Apr 1st, at St John Church of Christ, 429 N Washington,
Owosso from 1:00 till 4:00 PM.
Bill D., Sec. asked the District to
compile a list of addresses of folks willing to accept the responsibility for
receiving mail for the meeting they attend. We very much desire to be able to
make sure that each Group be able to place a copy of these minutes and
announcements of events in the District on the tables of each meeting held in
District 10. Please help us in this regard and contact us as soon as possible.
NEW
BUSINESS:
There was a suggestion from the floor
that the District hold a District wide Picnic. There are now two active A.A.
picnics in the District; Owosso-Chesaning and Durand Area. Any District wide
Picnic will be scheduled so as to not interfere with those two events.
