ShiaCoaa Meeting Minutes

April 1, 2009

Ray Hutchinson opened the meeting at 6:34 p.m. with a moment of silence, followed by the Serenity Prayer.

Janell J read minutes from the Feb. 3 meeting: Motion to accept seconded; minutes approved with one correction.

Joe F gave the treasurer's report:

Donations were received from Durand Friday Night, Durand 12-Steps, Durand Thursday Night, Lennon Big Book, Perry-Morrice and Byron.

Motion to accept Treasurer's Report seconded and approved.

OLD BUSINESS

Bill D created a flyer for the spring workshop, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 18 at the Corunna United Methodist Church. The Service and Serenity-themed workshop will feature Area 32 Officers and Committee Chairpersons discussing their roles and how groups relate to the General Service structure at the Area level. Coffee will be served at 9 a.m. and lunch consists of Coney dogs and donated dishes.

The flyer will be available for download from the ShiaCoAA Web site and for distribution after Monday, April 9.

The annual Kirby Road Park picnic is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, June 28.

NEW BUSINESS

Bill D, Web site administrator, requested reimbursement for $114.91, which he paid Go Daddy to host the ShiaCoAA Web site for the next three years. The motion to accept was seconded and approved. Bill also noted that reports on traffic to the Web site ? broken down by years, by quarters, by months and by addresses that routed traffic to the site ? are available upon request.

Bill also suggested that a handbook for officers, listing expected duties and terms of service, be created for District 10. He proposed that each officer Chairman, Co-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Webmaster write up his/her own duties for inclusion. Bill said he will provide a map of District 10 at the next meeting.

Bill also proposed thought be given to using the $276.56 in the P.I.C.P.C. Treasury for outreach that books could be given to school administrators, librarians, clergy, doctors, catholic charities workers and anyone else who comes into contact with problem drinkers.

Rick C noted that June 6 is the anniversary of the Grapevine and suggested that more people from Shiawassee County get involved with the publication. Art stated that the CPC chairperson is responsible for getting information to the Grapevine publishers and that anyone who has ideas should take them to their Inter-area representative.

He noted that a GSR meeting, which will outline purpose, objective and responsibilities, is scheduled for 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 5 and is open to anyone who would like to attend.

Having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m. with the Lord?s Prayer.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4 at the Congregational Church in Durand.
