OLD BUSINESS:

Mailing list reminder:

Bill D. Sec. reminded attendees of need to compile a mailing list so that all groups within the District would have a copy of the minutes of our proceedings and other materials (notices, fliers etc.) to place on the tables of their meetings.

District wide picnic:

After some discussion about park availability and timing for a picnic it was moved that the District would contract with Kirby Corners Park to reserve the park for June 25th at a cost of $35.00 to hold a picnic from 1:00 PM (dinner at 2:00) till dusk. Bill D “volunteered” to make a flier and publish on website and in these minutes.

NEW BUSINESS:

Temporary DCM:

Due to the relocation of Bill T., the District needs a replacement DCM to fill out his term of service. Nominations were opened and Roger C nominated Brian McG, Brian accepted then was asked if he would volunteer to accept the position as no other names were submitted. Brian said he would and was voted in by acclamation to serve out the remainder of Bill T’s term ending in Jan 07. Congratulations and thank you Brian.

Website and correspondence report:

Bill D. Sec, presented mailings received from AA General Service office, AA entities other than GSO and correspondence from entities outside of AA altogether. Our mailing address is published in Directories published by AAWS and is available at the AA website as well as our website so it is inevitable that we will receive solicitations from entities outside AA. It is ShiaCoAA’s policy to not respond to those mailings.

Bill D, Webmaster ShiaCoAA.org presented the body with a proposal to move our site from the present web hoster (GeoCitiesPro) to GoDaddy Web Hosting and transfer our present domain name, district10area32.org, along with the change in hosting, as a “parked” domain at GoDaddy.com so we can begin to use our new domain name ShiaCoAA.org without ‘losing’ those folks that would use our previous domain name when they tried to visit our site. This change would save the District approximately $300.00 over the next 3 years without sacrificing any services or features already present. Motion made to accept proposal approved unanimously.

OTHER DISCUSSION:

Chuck C, Chairman of Area 32 (CMIA) PI/CPC Committee announced that CMIA is in the planning stages for an Area workshop on public information and cooperation with the profession community to be held in Sept of this year. More information to follow.

NEXT MEETING:

The Monday Night 12 and 12 Gp volunteered to host our next District meetin to be held the first Monday in June (June 5) at Christ Episcopal Church, 119 E Oliver St, Owosso at 8:00 PM

MOTION TO ADJOURN:

Meeting closed with the Lords Prayer.
